Born in October 30, 1980, she is a Japanese singer-songwriter. In 2000, Onitsuka released her debut single "Shine" and gained massive popularity through her second single "Gekkou". Her first studio album Insomnia released in following year, topped the Japanese chart and sold more than a million copies. "Memai", one of the singles from her Insomnia album provided her with honor of winning the 43rd Japan Record Awards in 2001.
